Children's Convention (Ages 4 - 11)
*Please note: The Children's Convention does not include lunch. Parents must pick up their children for lunch and return them afterwards.
MOVE! - “Spending time with Jesus moves us to a whole new place,” is the theme of the Children’s Convention for 2016.
Focus Scriptures: “When you walk, nothing will slow you down. When you run, you won’t trip and fall. Hold on to my teaching and don’t let it go. Guard it well, because it is your life.” Proverbs 4:12-13 NIrV
Jesus hardly ever stood still when He walked on earth, and the same went for His disciples. They were on a mission to seek the lost to serve mankind and to turn hearts towards the true and living God. In other words they were on the MOVE! The same goes for us today as we teach Gods children to draw closer to Him He will draw near to them and He will give them their marching orders to MOVE!
Here is a list of the biblical accounts and stories that we will share this year:
- Paul’s Conversion – Acts 1-3; 9:1-9
- Ananias/Barnabas – Acts 9:10-31
- Paul and Silas – Acts 16:16-40
- Mars Hill – Acts 17:16-34
Our goal, in sharing these biblical accounts, is that the children will MOVE through some of the greatest adventures of all time. Each session will allow them to take a personal and individual journey that will teach them how to listen to God, talk to God, and ultimately share their faith.
We’ll hit the road with Paul and ask the same questions he asked and make some incredible discoveries along the way.
In addition, children will be exposed to a wide range of biblically focused performing arts, music and dance, arts and crafts activities, and many other creative ways that show how to MOVE with Jesus!
Jon and Debra Carr have been married 39 years and are veteran home educators. Their home education journey began in 1983 through 1998 when their youngest son graduated from South Bay Faith Academy’s Home Education Program. Even though their children are now adults, Jon and Debra have continued their involvement and support of home education programs. Together they’ve worked for close to 30 years serving in ministry to children and families.
All children attending the Children’s Convention must have a completed medical release form when checking in at the Children’s Convention. When registering online, all you need to do is check the medical release agreement box until you arrive at the event, at which time you will be asked for your signature. If you pre-register or register through any other means, you will need to provide a printed/signed medical release form before you can leave your children at the Children’s Convention. To save time, print a medical release from the link above and bring it with you.
