Come hear Penny Ross, homeschool expert with her own home education consulting business and Minnie Batty, homeschool mom of nine.

There will be a curriculum fair to browse and talk to actual users of these curricula.

One of the local private satellite program students will be hosting a bake sale to raise funds for their senior class activities.

The location is freeway close: one-half mile north of where the 405, 110 and 91 freeways meet in Gardena.

SESSION DESCRIPTIONS

You ARE the Boss! (Penny Ross)
Homeschooling offers the flexibility to teach your child, not the book. Yet many of us fall into the default school mode of letting curriculum be our master, instead of a tool. We’ll talk about practical ways you can adapt and adjust your curriculum to better fit the needs of your family including scheduling, learning styles, teaching to mastery, assessing developmental readiness, and more.

It Only Looks Chaotic! (Minnie Batty)
Do you wonder about how you can teach multiple kids at multiple levels at the same time? How do you juggle first grade and seventh grade together? What subjects can you combine and what subjects to do individually? How do you organize your day? Your week? How to manage your household amidst all of the going-ons? We will share and chat and talk about all these. What does a typical day look like for a homeschool mama of nine kids?
