“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens . . .” Ecclesiastes 3:1 (NIV)

A New Season
Seasons change, people change, and so must organizations. CHEA is on the brink of such a change, a new season. To help signal that change, we have a new logo, but that’s cosmetic. Don’t worry; we’re not abandoning the fundamentals of who we are–our Statement of Faith or our Mission Statement. Christian is still our first name.

The real difference is in how we do business. We’re moving closer to our roots by enlisting  volunteers and reducing our full-time staff in order to be better stewards of the money with which the Lord has entrusted us.

We have been working toward giving up most of our office space, using only enough for warehousing and shipping, with staff and volunteers working from home. The target is November, 2017.

Saying Goodbye to Staff
Sadly, this change means saying good-bye to two long-term, faithful full-time employees, Carolyn Rosales and Aimee Cordova, and Sam Cordova, also a faithful long-term seasonal staff member. Board members will assume their duties—not as well, of course. If you would like to drop these faithful servants a note or email of thanks for their many years of service, please mail to the CHEA office or email it to [email protected], and we will be sure they get them.

CHEA is one of the few statewide organizations which has maintained a large paid staff. But this hasn’t always been so; we began as a volunteer-run organization. So, it’s back to our roots.

Seeking Volunteers to Fill Gap
This means relying more heavily on volunteers. If you believe in the ministry of home education and the ministry of CHEA, we need you. There is a volunteer section on the website with information on our needs and a form to indicate your interest. Would you please check out the list, considering what you can do, and emailing us the form? Our greatest need right now is for in-office volunteers (data entry, mail, shipping, etc.) to keep our office operating.

And pray, please. Regardless of how hard this change has been and will be, we believe God has ordained this new season.  We have great hope and expectancy for what God has in store for private Christian home education and CHEA of California. Your prayers will help us as we move forward into this “New Season for CHEA – Back to Our Roots.”
