Description
Mike Smith is imminently qualified to spell out the history of homeschooling in California since he was there in the beginning. His family started homeschooling in 1981 and was on the original CHEA board. He and his wife, with much help, organized the first CHEA Convention in Los Angeles at the Church of the Open Door. Why a session on the history of homeschooling in California? Because if we don’t know our history, we are bound to repeat our mistakes. Mike will take you through the main events, legislation, and cases that have shaped the history of homeschooling in California. You will be introduced to some of the true heroes of homeschooling as well as some of the villains. This session is a must-attend for any attendee that does not know the details of the battle for our freedom to homeschool in relative freedom today.
